I would like to thank Laura for not coming back to me as promised. I have covered the chair myself, it looks gorgeous and I have saved myself approx 1000. Can supply photos if required.
It's with much disappointment that my wife and I feel the need to share this feedback, not out of bitterness or spite, but to provide genuine objective feedback that may help others to make an informed choice and avoid experiencing the same disappointment. This is a brief summary of our experience.The business owner of Complete Interiors, Marlborough agreed to recover our 4 kitchen dining chairs, for which there was no immediate rush to have completed, so she took her time (almost 4 months) to source a suitable material. As we were not in a hurry to have them done, this wasn't too much of an inconvenience at that point.However, once the material had been sourced and a start date agreed, things just went downhill. Firstly we were promised all 4 chairs would be done and finished while we were going to be away on holiday for a week. We only dropped off 2 of the chairs (to allow the house sitters to have seats at the kitchen table) and the other 2 would be done straight after. When we returned they were not finished. 2 weeks later; still not finished with excuses of material not delivered and buttons needed to be sent away to be done.With a visit looming from family, followed by a dinner party (for which we needed to add the chairs to our other set of 6 dining chairs) we were promised the chairs would be ready for the family arriving.On the day the chairs were to be collected we had a call stating they weren't up to standard so we couldn't pick them up but assurance was given that they would be ready for the family visit although the other 2 wouldn't be.Several subsequent phone calls and voicemails to chase if they were ready were ignored or responded to with, seamstress was ill, family funeral or 'I'll call you back' - no calls were received. Eventually, we were able to talk on the phone and explained if the chairs weren't going to be finished immediately we would pick them up in whatever condition they were in and have another business do the work. We were again assured they would be ready the following week.A week later we received a voicemail stating the chairs would be ready the next day, but we were going to be away for a long weekend so unfortunately couldn't collect them. The following week we agreed to collect them and then an hour later had a voicemail stating the chairs would be delivered to us that evening; they weren't.The next day, 2 days before our dinner party, we received a text message from the owner. This is the message:"Thank u for responding. The chairs will b in the shop for collection from Monday morning. I feel I have not been able to meet your expectation on time scales etc and wish not to take the 2 other chairs and would recommend u use the other services of the upholsterer in Calne. There is no charge for the work I have done to ease your disappointment/timescale I was unable to meet. Kind regards Laura"6 months after we first engaged her services, nearly 7 weeks since the first 2 chairs were taken and without any discussion with us or explanation as to why, she just dropped our job and has now left us with 4 mismatched chairs which, we will now need to have covered by another business.I will refrain from making judgements or assumptions on this but merely have provided the facts of the debacle that Complete Interiors considers to be good and fair customer service and outcomes.Although we cannot understand why we were treated like this, it is even more baffling as we had agreed further work to be completed after the first set of chairs had been recovered. Clearly, our business is not valued nor needed.Needless to state, we will not be giving our business to them again, and we recommend them to all as a company that is to be avoided at all costs.(2 Star rating is due to the quality of stock on sale opposed to the 1 Star that reflects our experience).
